She’s just funnier than I

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

I thought i had some funny things to say tonight. Then i read my sisters blog (check out "Gayles blog' in my links) and I just can't live up to her. Not tonight!

I've also been tempted to see how long she will count down. or I guess thats counting up! But I promised I would blog tonight so here I am. I didn't, however, promise to say anything worth reading!

See, i've been quiet for a few days cuz my mama taught me if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Living with my MIL for four days has rendered me speechless! She's a good lady, don't get me wrong, but ...... well, living with her and two special needs kids is a challenge. She will NOT accept that there is anything wrong with those precious babies that proper mothering wouldn't fix. She gets on me everytime for not toilet training Brianna (11 yrs old with neurogenic bladder/bowel) and James is not autistic, he is simply tired (all day, every day?) anyways. Routine goes out the window, James goes ballistic without it, life is tough. So I followed my mothers teaching and said nothing. well, nothing on here... ;)

James had his first therapy apt today. it went great. he completely ignored the pysio - like he does everyone. He LOVED the occupational therapist however. And since thats the one he needs, I am happy. hopefully speech will go well too. I have the pics, the poster board and the velcro to make him an activity picture chart. Hopefully tomorrow, but maybe Thursday. Wednesdays are nuts around here.

My house is chaos. I have a Monday house and it's Tuesday. I had company (I really must blog about that too) on Sunday and my house was such a wreck. I hope she came to see US and not the house.... :)

Today I picked up a Leapfrog 'math mission' puzzle for James and a 500 piece kitty puzzle for Brianna. I also found a gift for katie's birthday but I dare not post it here. She may read!

i'm tired. I think I'm going to get ready for bed and if J is still awake warn him that I am soon taking over the tv. My nice cozy bed and some Everybody Loves Raymond will hit the spot quite nicely right now.

later taters!

And I thought MY math was bad…

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

I went to the walmart photolab today to print some pics for a small scrapbook I am making my MIL for Christmas. I wanted 4x3 photo's as the pages I am using are smallish and this would make a more interesting page - not just one pic on each page. So, I go through the whole process. 40 pictures, 20 4x6 pictures at 19 cents a pic. Not so bad. I click through the process, take my order to the desk and chat with the guy for a moment and walk out. One hour and I'll have those in my hot little mits.

More than an hour later i'm back and I can tell there is a problem with my pictures. Two girls are there, and my pictures aren't. They couldn't print them. They don't carry the right size of paper. HUH? I explained that two 4x3's are printed on a 4x6, which I assure them they do indeed carry (ok, so not quite that way... but I WANTED to!). This blond (literally, and truly in every sense of the word) looked at me and said "how exactly are you going to print two 4x3's on a 4x6 paper?

hello? 4 inches down, 3 inches across twice equalling 6.... ? I showed her with my fingers on the counter how it would work and she stood there looking at me like I had two heads. Finally she called the guy I had talked to earlier. He's going to print them for me.

I thought my math was bad, apparently it's not as bad as some others??

Happy New Year!

Monday, January 1st, 2007

We brought in the new year watching the original "Cheaper By the Dozen" movie. Well, Katie, Ben and I did. Then Ben went to bed and katie and I finished the movie. :)

Today i'm sorta preparing for my MIL's arrival on Thursday. At least she says she's coming. Until she arrives I won't be holding my breath. Her plans change like the weather!

I'm also going to take some me time in my bedroom and listen to more of my audio book. I got "The Ishbane Conspiracy" for christmas and I am LOVING it. it's not child friendly however.

Right now Brianna is wanting me to feed her so sayonara for now. i'll be back.
